The word Qi, means energy or life force.
Qi is the fundamental life force/energy that permeates and sustains all life in the universe.
The word Gong, means work or skill.
Qi Gong may be translated as energy work or cultivating
life force.
Qi Gong is an ancient holistic health care system belonging to
the five branches of traditional Chinese medicine. It is described
as “The art of effortless power.” Qi Gong mirrors the movements
in nature. It is a gentle practice that incorporates easy-to-follow movements combining posture, breath, sound, and visualization.
Practicing Qi Gong brings a sense of calm, clarity and relaxation to the body, mind and spirit.
It helps to balance and recharge the body’s Qi as the human body is an energy system. It also creates an internal and external balance and harmony, so we are able to be healthier and live
a happier and longer life.

Classes are primarily done standing, but can also be done sitting in a chair. Classes are comprised of warm-ups, stretching, breathing practices, and flowing movements.
